What is TEAM Bethesda?
Just as Jesus Christ came to the waters of Bethesda and healed those who did not have the strength to carry themselves to the miraculous healing waters (John 5:2-12), so we, too, work to provide healing for those who are enduring the unimaginable. The loss of a child is extremely traumatic and life-changing. Oftentimes, the grief and related financial costs from such an experience can paralyze an individual, couple or family. What is more, when the loss of a child happens while one or more parents are also students, the challenges can be even more difficult. We are here to assist in healing. We are here to provide hope.
What are the goals of TEAM Bethesda?
100% of all donations received will be used as a "scholarship" for those students who cannot afford services associated with the loss of their child. Those requiring financial assistance will apply for aid from TEAM Bethesda. TEAM Bethesda will grant assistance according to need, as well as according to available funds.
How can I start a TEAM Bethesda to help college students who lose a child in my geographic area?
Jesus Christ offered His infinite love and hope to the broken, and so in like manner, TEAM Bethesda offers all the support, love, and hope we have. In chapter 5 of the Holy Bible we read the story of a man who wanted to be healed by immersing himself into the miraculous waters at Bethesda. This man had been ill for more than 30 years and did not have the strength, means, nor the required help to reach the waters of Bethesda. Christ saw this man and offered a miraculous healing not available by anyone or anything else.
In our efforts to be Christ-like and to share the hope and healing found in Jesus Christ, we are here to offer what we have; we are here to offer our "pool of Bethesda." We believe that when we serve our fellow human beings, we are literally serving Christ. We want to help you. We want you to know you are not alone. This grief you are bearing is unbearable. This grief is unpredictable. In many ways, it feels as though this grief changes your very DNA. You are reborn a new individual while enduring, and because of enduring, this great, great difficulty. We are here to help guide you in the ways to emerge from this not only a survivor, but as a stronger, kinder, more loving child of God. This experience will refine you, as you know. You can survive this great loss. We are here to offer resources and assistance to help you.

- We are continually working on teaming with local businesses who provide services to those experiencing this tragedy. Services could include reduced costs for the following: grief counseling; headstone companies, mortuary services, and other similar experiences.
- Our ultimate goal is to support those in need to receive the help their souls desperately require.

How can I start a TEAM Bethesda to help college students who lose a child in my geographic area?
- Contact monument companies in your local area to discuss their willingness to donate a modest headstone for college students who are not in a position to afford purchasing one for the burial of their child.
- Contact therapists and counselors in your local area to discuss their willingness to donate their time for individual or group grief counseling for college students who have lost a child
- Contact local companies or individuals to see if they are willing to make monetary donations to a scholarship fund intended to help college students deal with the common financial devastation of losing a child (100% of their donation will go to students - there are no 'administrative expenses' in Our TEAMS)
