Students giving
Students in Utah serving and raising funds for orphans in Kathmandu, Nepal
Team Strategy
Goals
Raise money to complete construction of orphanage ($5,000 USD) and security wall ($15,000 USD) surrounding the orphanage to protect (primarily) female children from male predators.
Background
The founder of this orphanage was born with club feet and abandoned by his parents. As a homeless child and man he begged to survive on the streets and eventually saved for 25 years to start this orphanage and rescue other homeless children who have been abandoned by parents, have imprisoned parents, or are orphans. There are currently 42 children who live in three bedrooms. The orphanage had enough money to expand in significant ways, but does not have enough money to complete the construction. Fortunately, these children are able to receive free education at the local school, including free uniforms, supplies, etc. The completion of this orphanage will provide more humane living conditions for the children and the wall will protect the children from outside predators.
